NEWS & UPDATES

The Nuse Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2016 by Lyn Nuse in loving memory of her parents Jack and Patsy Nuse and her grandmother Vatus Nuse. The scholarship was created through Asbury UMC in recognition of their faith and of the integral role this church played in their lives both as individuals and as a family. Patsy was a lifelong member of Asbury, a member of the Susanna Wesley Class, and a member of the United Methodist Women. She served in a multitude of roles within the church during her lifetime. Jack joined the church after their marriage, and Vatus joined after moving to Charles Town later in her life, also becoming a member of the United Methodist Women. They raised Lyn within Asbury and instilled in her a love of learning and an appreciation of the value of education. It therefore seems natural that an educational scholarship awarded to members of Asbury would be a fitting recognition of their lives and the legacy they left behind.
