Velma D. Moler
November 1, 1930 – August 25, 2011
Velma Demory Moler, 80, of Kearneysville, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at
the residence of her daughter, under the care of
Hospice of the Panhandle.
She was the widow of Raleigh William Moler, who
died Feb. 13, 1994. Mr. and Mrs. Moler were married
for 46 years.
Born Nov. 1, 1930, in Shepherdstown, she was the
daughter of the late Walter Milton Demory and Irene
(Moler) Demory.
Mrs. Moler retired after 20 years as a school bus
driver for Jefferson County Board of Education.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist
Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School.
She was a member of the Jefferson County CEOS and
Retired Service Personnel of Jefferson County.
At the time of her death, she was survived by her daughter, Connie Moler Ott
of Kearneysville; son, Kevin Jay Moler, of
Kearneysville; five grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marguerite Huffer,
Naomi Miller, Juanita Moler and Rebecca Prather; and
two brothers, Howard Demory and Dale Demory.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by her son, Perry William Moler;
sister, Annabell Osbourn; and brother, Lee Demory.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug.
30, 2011, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles
Town, with Reverend Richard Kroll and Dr. Henry Christie officiating.
Hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Pianist was Helen
B. Campanella. Interment
was at Pleasant View Memory Gardens,
Martinsburg. Pallbearers were Jamie Ott,
Christopher Ott, Joshua Ott, Cody Hedge, Lane Hedge, Bruce Moler, Eric Roper and
Shane Roper.
Friends were received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday
at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.

made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 110 W. North
St. Charles Town, WV 25414; and Hospice of the
Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
