Patricia L. Roach January 18, 1925 - June 22, 2011 Patricia L. Roach, 86, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Born Jan. 18, 1925, in Marietta, Ohio, she was the daughter of Warren E. Burns and Martha C. (Curtis) Burns. Mrs. Roach retired as an elementary school teacher, having taught in Berkeley Springs, Pennsylvania and New York. She was of the Methodist faith. At the time of her death she was survived by daughters, Cathy Cross and husband, Don, and Martha Roach, all of Shenandoah Junction; sons, Joseph Roach, of Hedgesville, Thomas B. Butscher Jr. and wife, Camille, of Charles Town and Edward Roach and wife, Jenean, of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Patricia also had two sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Roach, who died Oct. 4, 1995. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Melvin T. Strider Colonel Funeral Home, Charles Town, with the Rev. Richard Kroll officiating. Pianist Jo Ellen Toothman played several selections, as well as the closing hymn, "Amazing Grace." Interment was at Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs. Pallbearers were Joe Roach, Tom Roach, Eddie Roach, Christopher Bahr, Andy Cross and Don Cross. Friends were received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
