John A. Holliday
John A. Holliday, 94, died on February 14, 2007 at
the Glen Burnie Health Rehabilitation Center.
John was born on September 21, 1912 to the late Daniel and Nettie (Ashley)
Holliday.
John retired in 1988
from the S. Gumpert Co. after being
employed for 30 years as a Food Broker.
John served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was a member of AARP and a former member of Shannondale Club Ltd.
At the time of his death John was survived by his daughter Patricia Ann Smith and husband Ron Smith of
Pasadena, Md.
A Memorial Service was held on February 24, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Asbury United
Methodist Church, Charles Town WV with the Reverend Richard Kroll officiating.
Mr. John Dendrinos give reflections on John's life. Congregational hymns
were "How Great Thou Art", "Rock of Ages", and "Just As I Am". Interment
was at the Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town
with Military rites preformed by Master Sergeant Dennis Wilson, Staff Segeant
Eric Aikins and Private William Baker.
