Gloria S. "Dodee" Wenger April 25, 1933 - March 26, 2010 Gloria S. "Dodee" Wenger, 76, of Charles Town, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson. Born April 25, 1933, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of Robert Lee Smallwood and Pearl (Bradfield) Smallwood. Mrs. Wenger retired after 44 years of service from the Bank of Charles Town. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a graduate of Charles Town High School. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1028, Charles Town and the Senior Womens Club. At the time of her death, she was survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis "Lou" Wenger, who died Dec. 4, 1993; five sisters, Frances Brown, Louise Droneburg, Alice Bennett, Florence Howell and Ruth Michael; and five brothers, Donald Smallwood, Gilbert Smallwood, Richard Smallwood, Rondo Smallwood Sr. and Robert Smallwood Jr. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, with the Reverend Richard Kroll and the Reverend Marcus Earp officiating. Hymns were "He Touched Me" and "Because He Lives." Pallbearers were Jeff Puetz, Eddie Lang, Andy Renner, Brandon French, Elbie Heath, Ashby Heath, Curtis Harrison and Steve Kozak. Interment was at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
