Daniel H. "Danny"
Breeden, 61, of Charles Town, died Friday, Nov. 23,
2007, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in
Ninety Six, S.C.
Born October 29,
1946, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of
the late Dan H. Breeden and Vernie Virginia Fellers
Breeden.
He was a 1964
graduate of Charles Town High School, and studied
fire science and engineering at Shepherd College in
Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He retired after 32
years from the 3M Co. in Middleway, W.Va., as a
production supervisor.
He attended Asbury
United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
He was a field
instructor for the West Virginia University Fire
Service Extension Division; a member, administrative
and fire line officer, and training officer for the
Citizens Fire Co.; a delegate holding offices in the
West Virginia State Firemen's Association; and a
member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948 and Malta
Lodge 80 AF&AM, both of Charles Town.
He is survived by his
wife of 38 years, Sandy Bennett Breeden; two
daughters, Dawn Renner of Kearneysville, W.Va., and
Dana A. Whittington of Uvilla, W.Va.; one son,
Dwayne Breeden of Ninety Six; one sister, Lucy L.
Hough of Charles Town; one brother, Randy A. Breeden
of Charles Town; four grandchildren; and nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in
death by two sisters, Imogene Breeden and Sue A.
Breeden; and one brother, Irving Breeden.
Services were held at
II a.m. Tuesday, November 27 at the Asbury United
Methodist Church with the Reverend Richard Kroll and
Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Hymns: "In The
Garden" and "Amazing Grace." Remembrances were
by A.O. "Mike" Pittinger. Interment: Edge Hill
Cemetery. Pallbearers: A.O. "Mike" Pittinger,
Lawrence "Buck" Willingham, Robert "Bob" Turner,
Allen "Newt" Cain, Donald Clendening and George
Glassford.
The family received friends Monday, November 26 from 6 to 9 p.m.
at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles
Town.
