Clara J. Magaha

Clara J. Magaha, 95, of Berryville, Va., formerly of Charles Town died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at the Greenfield Senior Living, Berryville, Va.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1912, in Jefferson County, W.Va.

She was the daughter of the late William Clarence Janney and Maggie (Anderson) Janney.

Mrs. Magaha was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Francis Eugene “Mac” Magaha, who died on March 22, 2001; one sister, Mary K. Brown; and two brothers, Hugh and Linden Janney.

At the time of her death she was survived by nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Magaha was a homemaker and an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Charles Town, where she was a member of the Women’s Circle, Friendly Sunday School Class and the “Make a Day Count” at the church.

She attended Jefferson County, schools.

Services were held at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Kroll officiating
; Hymns: "In The Garden," "Old Rugged Cross," and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand."  Pallbearers: Gene Magaha, John Magaha, John Emmert, Russ Fowler, Dick Carper and Donald Mickey.

Internment was at the Middleway Masonic Cemetery,
Middleway, W.Va.

Friends were received at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral home on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m.
