The Reverend Jim Chambly Jr., 62, passed away suddenly on March 22, 2007, at his residence in Essex, Md.

Jim Chambly Jr was the  pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town for 20 years (1980-2000) and served his last six years (2001-2007) as pastor of the Essex United Methodist Church in Essex, Md.

He was survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann Chambly; five children, Steven Jenkins and wife Teresa, Debbie James, Denise Jackson and husband Buzzy, Karen Carroll and husband Tim, and David Jenkins and wife Teresa; 13 grandchildren and his loving congregation.

A private cremation was held. A memorial service was conducted on Thursday, March 29, at 11:30 a.m. at Essex United Methodist Church, 524 Maryland Ave., Essex, MD 21221. A second memorial service was conducted on Saturday, March 31, at 11:30 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.

In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Memorial Fund at Essex United Methodist Church, 524 Maryland Ave., Essex MD, 21221.
