Carl Grant Hall

Carl Grant Hall, 87, of Wayside Farm, Rippon, W. Va., died Friday, July 14, 2006, at his home.

He was the son of the late John Hall and Mary L. (Fisher) Hall. He was born July 12, 1919, in Middletown, Ohio.

Mr. Hall retired in 1980 after 32 years as Supervisor of Reservations with United Airlines and the former Capitol Airlines. Prior he has been employed with the Navy Department Bureau of Ships during World War II. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Jefferson High School, Roanoke, Va. and University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. He was a member of South Jefferson Ruritan Club, Potomac Valley Audubon Society and the Old Opera House Board of Directors, where he appeared on stage in "My Fair Lady." He volunteered at the OP Shop and the Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary with over 5000 hours of service.

He is survived by his companion Dr. James E. Keel, Rippon, WV and one sister, Marie Doran, Roanoke, Va.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Roberts and Elsie Haynes; and six brothers, Dewey Murray, Roy Hall, Elmer Hall, William Hall, Clarence Hall, and Raymond Hall.

Memorial service was held at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town, W. Va., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, with the Rev. Richard Kroll officiating.

Arrangements were made by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W. Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 110 West North St., Charles Town, WV 25414, or the Old Opera House Op Shop, 204 North George St., Charles Town, WV 25414.
